Description
Verde Guatemala Marble Slabs
This iconic stone is reminiscent of lush rainforest, boasting a beautiful blend of emerald, fern, and moss green. It has a medium to dark green serpentinite breccia with dark green veins. Stone Discover exports the best green marble in the industry. Internationally, this stone is nominated as marble, but it is nominated as serpentinite in the European Standard application. Verde Guatemala is exotic and eye-catching. With an emerald-green base and swirling black veins, Verde Guatemala marble can help effortlessly create intrigue and drama in your dream house or any space.
Note: Marble is a relatively porous and “soft” stone. Follow your fabricator’s care and maintenance instructions to avoid wear-out of your surfaces.
The veining and colour vary considerably. A small sample of Verde Guatemala Marble may not represent the whole slab. So, swatch samples must be approved for large projects to ensure that the blocks are all extracted from the same quarry face for matching purposes.
And when filling micro fissures or tiny pits, a clear epoxy resin filler can do the job during the polishing process. It does not affect the integrity of the stone; it merely provides an even smoother surface finish. Verde Guatemala Marble is ideal for interior and exterior applications; however, its polish is only constant inside.
History of Verde Guatemala Marble
Verde Guatemala is like the original dark green chlorite schist from Sierra de las Minas, Zacapa, Guatemala, and is now called Verde Guatemala. This stone is traded and produced under many names.
Products: Suitable for construction projects, both commercial and domestic, prefabricated countertops/worktops, vanities, tiles, backsplashes, paving, fireplaces, and memorials.
Surface Finish: Verde Guatemala Marble looks best with a gloss polished surface but is also available as honed, leather/satin, river-washed/antique, thermal/flamed, brushed, and sandblast finish.
Sealing: Test with a small sample. It is possible that a sealant can be used on Verde Guatemala; however, excessive attempts at sealing it could create a residue film build-up.
Block Sizes: This is a quarry yielding selectable grades of marble with blocks suitable for gangsaw size down to economical tile-sized blocks. For commercial projects, it is important to ensure that blocks are selected from the same quarry face.
Stone Discover usually exports rough blocks; however, intermodal containerization is available at an extra cost. Finished products are packed into sea-worthy wooden crates and loaded into containers.
Quarry Location: Verde Guatemala Marble is quarried near Rakhab Dev, Udaipur, Rajasthan, and Hindustan, India. Many quarries, large and small, have several varieties and countless trade names. Some quarries have a selectable lighter green groundmass.

Breccia: A sedimentary rock is composed of large, angular fragments of minerals or rocks cemented together by a fine-grained matrix. The word has its origins in the Italian language, in which it means “rubble.”
A breccia may have a variety of different origins, as indicated by the named types, including sedimentary breccia, tectonic breccia, igneous breccia, impact breccia, and hydrothermal breccia.
Marble: It’s a metamorphosed limestone composed of pure calcium carbonate, CaCO3. The softness of marble and its relative isotropy and homogeneity make it desirable for sculpture and building stone.
Although marble comes from limestone, the temperatures, and pressures necessary to form marble usually destroy any fossils that may have been present in the limestone.
Marble derives its name from the Greek marmaros, a shining stone. [source: OED2]. This stem is also the basis for the English word marmoreal, meaning “marble-like.” In folklore, marble is associated with the astrological sign of Gemini.
Pure white marble is an emblem of purity. It is also an emblem of immortality and an ensurer of success in education.
Serpentine: Any of a group of hydrous magnesium-rich silicate minerals. The composition of these common rock-forming minerals approximates Mg3Si2O5(OH)4.
Serpentinite is a rock composed of one or more serpentine group minerals. Minerals in this group are formed by serpentinization, a hydration and metamorphic transformation of ultra-mafic rock from the Earth’s mantle.
